Old Days

Cars in the old days were made entirely (or almost entirely) of real metal. As such, the metal had some weight to it, and that creates drag when you’re driving a car. It causes the car to burn more fuel. Smaller cars seem to be the way things are going, but we still love our big old cars, too.

Roadways

The roadways of the world are generally growing more safe as new ways of engineering them are discovered, and new, smaller and more fuel efficient cars are being built to travel on them. The number of new forms of cars that run on alternate fuel sources like electricity or ethanol can be built smaller and lighter, and eventually when the large gas guzzlers are no longer on the road anymore at all, they will be better for everyone.
